You might not be thinking about your Christmas tree for this year yet but we are. It is less than six months before the holiday season begins and everyone at Balsam Hill Farm is looking forward to helping you find the tree that is perfect for you and your family. Planting is coming to an end. Nearly one thousand new transplants have been added to the farm to keep future generations of fragrant balsam firs available for our customers and friends. This time of year the candling (blooming) process is in full swing as trees begin their growth cycle. July and August will bring the time for the trees to be modestly shaped and groomed. BHF uses natural growth practices and we prefer to allow our trees to develop a little bit more as they were intended. July also brings the beginning of photography season at the farm. If you are thinking of having your holidays photos and greeting cards done at a tree farm, try to book early with your favorite photographer for the best selection of dates and times.
